days fly by, and when you don’t have a computer at home anymore and have to walk 2 whole blocks to school (uphill, mind you) and blogging gets shoved way under the rug.
i swear this summer has just been a black hole for money, with disorderly conducts, moving in and moving out, i’m barley going to have enough for my last quarters’ tuition, which is really still a loan. no worries though.
i’m staring at this conserved domain that comes from cDNAs that are found in nasonia (wasps), but is homologous to other domains in closely related organisims drosophila and anopheles (fruit flies and mosquitos). comparing them together will let me know if these domains are conserved throughout species, or are just products of random chance. i can’t believe this stuff is actually interesting to me, and if i was getting paid thousands of dollars a month, i would probably find plenty of time to do this kind of thing. gotta put in the school time though….
the computer lab is nice and empty up at western, kind of nice, i’m sure i’ll be spending lots of time here doing things similar to what i’m doing now, since i won’t have a computer at home, and the computers in the biology department are still low end pentium ones.
i gotta say that there’s nothing to complain about though, i’d say life is about at it’s most routine right now, which isn’t that bad at all. i can do this whole takin it easy for a bit longer.
